East Nassau man charged with burglary, grand larceny

NASSAU, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An East Nassau man is facing several charges following a theft investigation, according to state police. Sean Mcmanus, 27, is accused of burglarizing a Rensselaer County home back in June.

On June 10 around 1:30 p.m., state police responded to a residence in Nassau after the homeowner reported a burglary that occurred earlier in the month. The ensuing investigation resulted in Mcmanus being identified as a suspect, determining that he allegedly forced entry into the home, caused damage to the property and stole over $1,500 worth of items.

Troopers located Mcmanus in New Lebanon on July 29 and took into custody. He was reportedly found with a quantity of undisclosed drugs at the time of his arrest. Mcmanus now faces the following charges:

  • Second-degree burglary
  • Fourth-degree grand larceny
  • Third-degree criminal mischief
  • Seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance

Mcmanus was arraigned at the Schodack Town Court before being released on his own recognizance.
