Newark eatery serving pan pizzas moving to Gahanna

GAHANNA, Ohio (WCMH) – A Newark eatery known for its pan pizzas and stuffed cookies is moving to Gahanna and expanding its menu. 

Pizza Nerds, located at 2050 Cherry Valley Road in Newark, has plans to move to Gahanna later this year. Co-owner Brent Gargasz said while he is not able to give an exact address yet, the shop’s new location will be near the Cherry Bottom Plaza. 

“We do sort of a Detroit-style-ish pizza, so it's a thicker crust pan pizza,” Gargasz said. “It's cheese the whole way, edge-to-edge, sauce on top of the cheese, toppings on top of that and then baked. So you get a little bit thicker of a pizza with a nice crispy bottom, but it's still kind of a soft, fluffy inside of the pizza.”

The pizza shop first opened in 2022. Gargasz said complications with a co-tenant in the eatery’s Newark restaurant led to Pizza Nerds making the move to Gahanna. 

The pizzeria will be expanding its menu, introducing thinner pan pizzas, brownies, and a new salad and sandwich, Gargasz said. It will also continue to serve its fan-favorite stuffed and unstuffed cookies. 

Gargasz said he plans to open the Gahanna eatery in November or December.
