Chris Pratt’s Tribute to Father-in-Law Arnold Schwarzenegger Shows How Strong Their Bond Has Become
When Chris Pratt married his wife Katherine Schwarzenegger, he also became Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s son-in-law. That’s right, Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Starlord was officially related to The Terminator. And, ever since they became family, the two have shown each other nothing but support over the years, including in Pratt’s recent birthday tribute.
On Instagram, the Jurassic World star shared a series of pictures of them together. In the first, Pratt and Schwarzenegger are focused on playing chess together. In the second, they’re both smiling at the camera while Pratt pets their dog. In the last picture, Schwarzenegger can be seen in the kitchen with Pratt and his daughter’s kids Lyla, 3, and Eloise, 2, and his pet pig.
“Happy Birthday Arnold! You’re one of a kind,” Pratt, who recently announced that he and his wife are expecting their third baby together, wrote in the caption. “Looking forward to another year of sage advice, good cigars, chess whoopings and hand feeding homemade cookies to the many barn animals that live in your kitchen.”
In the comments, a few users are still wrapping their heads around this action-hero “crossover episode.” “Imagine being able to say your father-in-law is both the Terminator AND the former governor of California,” wrote one user. “Happy Birthday! I love your leather chair, pet pig and sharing time with your sweet granddaughters!” celebrated another.
Earlier this year, in April, Schwarzenegger gushed about his relationship with his son-in-law. “He’s a fun guy to talk to,” he said in an episode of New Heights, per People.
“I’m really happy that my daughter has found him,” he continued. “And that he has found her… they found each other because they fit really well together and they just look wonderful together. They’re so in love with each other.”
Per Schwarzenegger, they’ve connected over the many things they have in common. “We talk a lot about show business because this is a whole new era now, and so we talk about that vs. when I got into the game,” he revealed.
