Reese Witherspoon’s Reported New Beau Might Be the Low-Key Relationship She Needs Post-Divorce

Since Reese Witherspoon‘s divorce from her ex Jim Toth in the spring of 2023, speculation over who she could date next has been at an all-time high. After all, while some Hollywood powerhouses like Kevin Costner are reportedly interested, it’ll take a lot to win over one of the world’s sweethearts.

All the speculation aside, however, new reports suggest that Witherspoon already has a new beau: German private equity financier Oliver Haarmann. According to Daily Mail, Witherspoon has been spotted on a “string of dates” with Haarmann recently in New York City.

In one of those meetings, Witherspoon was pictured in a black maxi dress and heels and Haarmann in a white shirt and blue trousers before they hopped into an SUV for a dinner date.

A day earlier, on Sunday, they were seen arriving at a heliport together before heading to an apartment building.

Much like Witherspoon, Haarmaann is accomplished in his field and a recent divorcé. Currently, he is a founding partner of Searchlight Capital Partners, a private equity investment firm in Europe and North America. Before that, he was a senior partner of the global investment firm KKR & Co.

As for his education, the 56-year-old earned A.B. degrees in history and international relations from Brown in 1990 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1996.

Haarman was once married to businesswoman Mala Gaonkar (she is now dating musician David Byrne). The former couple share two sons.

Witherspoon, on the other hand, has two kids Ava, 24, and Deacon, 20, with her first husband Ryan Phillippe and son Tennessee, 11, with Toth.

Witherspoon and Haarmann’s recent outings follow the latest reports of the actress’ low-key new relationship from Life & Style.

“Reese doesn’t take dating lightly,” an insider told the outlet. “After splitting from Jim, she was determined to take her time and not jump into another relationship unless she was absolutely sure. She listened to her heart, and apparently, she’s now dating this guy exclusively.”

Per the outlet, The Big Little Lies star met her new beau the old-fashioned way — through her friends. “There’s still a lot of secrecy surrounding her new suitor, but Reese is having fun,” they added. “She’s totally into him and optimistic about where it might be headed.” We’re so happy for her!
