Golden Globes 2025: Who will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award? [POLL]

Can you predict which actor, actress or director will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award at the 2025 Golden Globes? Well, at least we hope CBS will allow them to bring back this coveted award. For the 2024 ceremony, new producers opted not to present the DeMille (for a film legend) or the Carol Burnett Award (for a TV icon).

If the award returns, the selection committee will likely announce their life achievement recipient in the next few weeks. Vote in our poll below featuring 20 people all over 50 who deserve recognition.

The most recent ceremony in 2023 featured a tribute to Eddie Murphy. Actress Jane Fonda received the DeMille two years before.

Here are the 20 men and women we are offering you as possibilities in our poll (vote below):

Julie Andrews
Angela Bassett
Mel Brooks
Sandra Bullock
Michael Caine
Cher
Glenn Close
Kevin Costner
Sally Field
Mel Gibson
Whoopi Goldberg
Ron Howard
Samuel L. Jackson
Diane Keaton
Jessica Lange
Spike Lee
Steve Martin
Brad Pitt
Julia Roberts
Sigourney Weaver

Nicole Kidman is not on our list since she just received the American Film Institute life achievement a few weeks ago. Tom Cruise is not on our poll list since he publicly returned his Golden Globe trophies during the most volatile months of HFPA controversies. Francis Ford Coppola is not included since he receives the Kennedy Center Honors in December.

Not included in this poll are the following living men since they have been selected in prior years: Clint Eastwood (1988), Robert Redford (1994), Dustin Hoffman (1997), Jack Nicholson (1999), Al Pacino (2001), Harrison Ford (2002), Gene Hackman (2003), Michael Douglas (2004), Anthony Hopkins (2006), Warren Beatty (2007), Steven Spielberg (2009), Martin Scorsese (2010), Robert De Niro (2011), Morgan Freeman (2012), Woody Allen (2014), George Clooney (2015), Denzel Washington (2016), Jeff Bridges (2019), Tom Hanks (2020) and Eddie Murphy (2023).
