Two people killed in Antioch traffic collisions are identified

ANTIOCH — The names of a bicyclist and a man riding a motorcycle who were killed in separate traffic collisions Saturday have been released by authorities.

The coroner’s office identified the bicyclist as Linda Wooldridge, 29, of Antioch.

The motorcycle rider was identified by the coroner’s office as Thomas Trost, 32, of Antioch.

Wooldridge was killed about 12:10 a.m. Saturday when she was struck by a vehicle driven by a suspected drunk driver at the intersection of Lone Tree Way and Sagebrush Drive, police said.

Wooldridge died at the scene.

The suspect, a 38-year-old Antioch man, remained at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage causing serious bodily injury or death, police said. His name was not released and it is not known if any charges were filed against him.

Trost died from injuries suffered about 7:43 p.m. Saturday after the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a collision with a vehicle in the 900 block of W. 10th Street. Trost was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Police have not released any information about the vehicle driver. Authorities said in a news release that investigators “determined from witness statements and from video collected at the scene that speed was a contributing factor to the crash” but did not say which vehicle was speeding.

Both incidents remain under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the police non-emergency line at 925-778-2441 or traffic investigator Sgt. Rob Green at 925-779-6864 or email him at rgreen@antiochca.gov.
