THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Police are searching for two suspects after an 82-year-old man was injured in his backyard in the Bronx on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at around 8:30 a.m. in the vicinity of Walton Avenue and East 149th Street, according to the NYPD.

Police say two male suspects on a roof threw a rock and a two-by-four piece of wood at the victim, striking him in the head. The suspects then fled on foot.

Emergency services took the victim to a local hospital where he received 15 staples for his head injury.
