Team USA Swimmer Katie Ledecky Wins at Paris Olympics, Sets New Record Time & Ties For Most Olympic Gold Medals In Women's Swimming

Katie Ledecky is a big winner at the 2024 Paris Olympics!

Following her bronze win in the Women’s 400m Freestyle, she dominated in the 1500m Freestyle to pick up another gold medal with a time of 15:30.02, setting a new Olympic record.

Katie‘s new record beats out her own record of 15:35.35, which she set in 2021 at the Tokyo Olympics.

In addition to setting a new record time, Katie is also now tied for the most gold medal wins, alongside fellow US swimmer Jenny Thompson, with eight gold medals in women’s swimming. They both also have three silver and a bronze.

Katie could surpass Jenny later this weekend as she still has to compete in the Women’s 800m Freestyle on Friday, August 2nd!

At the time of this post, Team USA’s total Olympic medal count is now at 30, the most of any country, with five golds, 13 silver and 12 bronze.
