Repeat offender sentenced for raping victim while armed with knife

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A Buffalo man was sentenced to 12 years in prison followed by 15 years of post-release supervision for raping a victim in 2022, the Erie County District Attorney's Office announced Wednesday.

Officials said Tamaury Love, 25, forcibly engaged in sexual intercourse with a victim while armed with a knife in the early morning hours of March 13, 2022. The incident occurred in a Buffalo residence. Love was linked to the crime through DNA evidence and was subsequently arrested.

He pleaded guilty to one count of first-degree rape in May.

On July 20, 2018, Love burglarized a business on the 3100 block of Bailey Avenue. He pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree burglary and received an indeterminate sentence of 2 1/3 to 7 years in prison, following the rape indictment, which will be sentenced concurrently to his sentence on the rape conviction.

In another incident on April 16, 2020, Love knowingly and unlawfully entered and remained inside the victim's residence in Buffalo. He allegedly spit on the walls and countertops and damaged items in the kitchen and bathroom.

Love pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree criminal trespass in May 2022 and was sentenced to 364 days in jail, which will be served concurrently to his sentence on the other two cases.
