10-goal United star accepts £89k-a-week offer from UCL club, first bid already made - report
Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has agreed personal terms with Galatasaray ahead of a possible move, according to A Spor journalist Emre Kaplan.
The Scotland international has been in and out of the Red Devils’ starting line-up. He could leave this summer, with the club eyeing a marquee midfielder.
McTominay has reportedly already said ‘yes’ to Galatasaray. He has agreed terms on a £89,000 per week contract with the Turkish champions.
Galatasaray must reach a suitable agreement with United. They recently submitted an opening bid worth £12.6 million, but United want at least £25.2m.
United need to stand firm on McTominay’s price tag
McTominay is no longer a guaranteed starter for the Red Devils, but he remains a game-changer.
He netted ten goals and provided three assists in all competitions last term. Eight of those goal contributions came in the Premier League.
United picked up 12 extra points as a result. They could have finished in the bottom half of the standings without him.
Erik ten Hag has indicated that he would prefer to keep the club graduate, but the final decision could depend on the hierarchy.
The club are in talks with Paris Saint-Germain for Manuel Ugarte and his arrival could coincide with the departure of a senior midfielder.
There are no suitable offers for Casemiro at the moment while Christian Eriksen is unlikely to fetch a decent fee. The Dane has made it clear that he will honour the final year of his United contract.
McTominay is the likely candidate to leave. Galatasaray are trying to secure his services on the cheap, but United should stand firm on the price.
West Ham United and Fulham are among the contenders to sign McTominay. The latter are weighing up a second bid for him.
