‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Dominates Consumer Excitement in 2024 (So Far) | Chart

What are the entertainment offerings that consumers are most excited about? It’s a question that marketers, distributors, advertisers and media publications are always asking.

ScreenShare, a data partnership between Screen Engine/ASI and TheWrap, tracks the Top 10 most-mentioned entertainment options every week and whether each has gained or lost momentum compared to the prior week. The chart lives on the Data & Analysis page of the WrapPRO Members Hub.

“Deadpool & Wolverine” is breaking records and dominating the box office. Not only is “Deadpool & Wolverine” No. 1, but it had the highest opening weekend ever for an R-rated film and the best opening weekend this year. “Deadpool & Wolverine” had more mentions in its opening weekend than last year’s blockbuster hit “Barbie” and the most mentions for any title on the list so far this year.

Coming in at No. 2 for the third week in a row, the “Paris 2024: Summer Olympic Games” have begun and can be watched live on NBC and streaming on Peacock. “Twisters” moves up two spots, crashing into the Top 3 while Disney & Pixar’s “Inside Out 2” moves to the No. 4 position.

HBO’s “House of the Dragon” rounds out the Top 5 and “Despicable Me 4” holds at No. 6. Netflix’s “Cobra Kai,” which is now in its sixth and final season, joins the list at No. 7. Similar to “Bridgerton,” the sixth season of “Cobra Kai” will be released in parts. Part one aired on July 18. Part 2 will premiere on Nov. 15 and Part 3 debuts in February of 2025.

“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” remains steady at No. 8 while “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” which is now available to buy or rent on digital platforms, lands at No. 9. Rounding out the Top 10 is video game “Call of Duty: Black Ops 6,” due to be released in October.
