OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — 33-year-old Kermit Camel was killed Monday in Northeast Oklahoma City, following a double homicide, per the Oklahoma City Police Department.

Camel's sister, Liz, was asleep that night, until she got a horrifying text from her younger sister.

"She said Kermit is dead, and I couldn't breathe at that point," she says.

Liz told News 4 she felt numb after reading the text message.

Heartbroken by the devastating loss to her family, she says her brother was loved by many, and that he was a good man.

"He was very helpful in the community, he has a lot of friends," said Liz. "He was also so giving and loving, and his smile lights up a room when he comes in."

Camel leaves behind two daughters.

Liz described him as the perfect dad.

We reached out to Oklahoma City Police Department for any updates on the investigation.

Gary Knight from OKCPD says there are currently no updates, and that they are still working to figure out the details.

Authorities are asking anyone with any information to call Crime Stoppers.

Kermit's family has organized a GoFundMe to cover funeral expenses. If you would like to donate, click here.
