Man Utd star out for three months with injury, another sidelined for 6 weeks - report

Manchester United have been handed bad news with Leny Yoro and Rasmus Hojlund set to be sidelined for an extended period of time, according to BBC Sport.

The young duo suffered injuries during the opening half of the pre-season friendly against Arsenal last weekend. The extent of the setbacks have now been revealed.

Yoro was spotted on crutches and a protective boot earlier this week and the Frenchman is set to be sidelined until the end of October after a metatarsal injury.

That would mean that he could be ruled out for nine Premier League games next term as well as the start of the club’s Carabao Cup and Europa League campaigns.

Meanwhile, there is not good news on Hojlund either. The Dane will be out of action for another six weeks after picking up a hamstring injury against the Gunners.

The injury to the duo could alter the club’s transfer plans in the near future. A new centre-back seems a priority after the unfortunate setback for Yoro on Saturday.

Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt has been tipped to join the club for several weeks and United could speed up the pursuit after the injury blow to the teenager.

Manager Erik ten Hag could also contemplate the signing of another striker, considering new signing Joshua Zirkzee will need time to adapt to the Premier League.

Brentford star Ivan Toney could re-emerge as an option for the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, we are waiting for an update on Marcus Rashford and Antony who were spotted limping off the field in the 3-2 win over Real Betis in the United States.
