Some kids are back in class already. Why aren't more schools open year-round?

Advocates praise year-round schools as a way to stave off summer learning loss, avoid burnout and and give families different stretches of time off. Yet infrastructure concerns and co-ordination challenges prevent more schools from adopting the model.
