Love Island couple accused of ‘faking split for publicity’ after unfollowing each other and deleting pics
A LOVE Island duo have been blasted by fans who suspect they split for a “publicity stunt.”
It came after the couple mysteriously unfollowed each other on social media – before rocking up at an event together hours after.
Love Island alumni Whitney Adebayo, 26, and her man Lochan Nowacki, 25, have come under fire from furious matchmaking show viewers who believe their break up is a farce.
The pair, who starred in the 2023 series, even went as far as to erase images of each other from their pages.
Yet after rocking up to the National Reality TV Awards arm in arm, fans suspect something is untoward.
One took to Reddit to write: “Wish them all the best but this reeks of a publicity stunt.”
A second put: “These two always gave pr relationship anyways,” as a third agreed: “They’re hilarious if this is a publicity stunt.”
Another mused: “Maybe she saw the interest in Shaq and Tanya when they unfollowed and deleted.”
One then put: “These two always gave pr relationship anyways.”
An eagle eyed fan added: “Pictures of them together has been posted on Twitter so that kinda confirms my theory but yeah this would be a stinky publicity stunt.”
One then pleaded: “Please guys don’t fall for this! They know exactly what they’re doing.”
Another surmised: “It’s a publicity stunt they’re literally together right now at the awards.”
It came just weeks after Whitney revealed she had taken a huge step with her man.
The Camden-born reality star posted a life update video on YouTube, and answered some of the most pressing questions about her life post-villa.
The social media star, who boasts over 1 million followers across her social media accounts, told fans on YouTube the pair were considering moving in together.
She told the video: “I would live with Lochan, but I am torn because Lochan lives with his friends.”

She coupled up with Mehdi Edno, 26, on Day 5, and in a surprising turn of events, she took personal trainer Zachariah Noble, 26, out on a date but their chemistry would soon fizzle out.
Her luck changed in Week 5, when Windsor-born Lochan entered Cara Amor on Day 26. On Day 31, Whitney chose to couple up with Lochan.
The show favourites lost out on the winning spot to Jess Harding, 23, and Sammy Root, 23 on the show finale on Day 58.
She recently told how the pair were planning to move in together.
Yet in July 2024, eyebrows were raised after the pair unfollowed each other on social media then attended an event together – leaving some fans calling out a “publicity stunt.”
She continued: “Him and his friends are going to get a place for themselves for a year.
“And then the following year it’s ideal that we’ll move in together.”
The content creator said: “Half of me wants to [move in], but the Christian in me is like ‘Why are you living with a guy that you’re not married to? What are you doing? You don’t need no trial.’ “
“I don’t know about cohabitation before marriage. So I don’t know, I am torn between the world we live in, and my faith. But I love him and I definitely want to live with him at some point.”
Lochan entered Cara Amor on Day 26, and just five days later the pair coupled up.
