This SPF spray is a game-changer for my summer skincare regime -and it’s been slashed from £20 to £16

I’M a real stickler for sun protection, and not just in the summer – it’s vital all year round.

I’ve discovered that Hello Sunday’s The Retouch spray is an absolute game-changer in the summer – you can even apply it over your make-up. And right now, it’s on sale.

Easy to use, and a great way to top up your SPF throughout the day

£16 (was £20), Cult Beauty

Come rain or shine, summer or winter, I will always wear SPF, even if it’s just in my moisturiser. It’s always included in my beauty regime at some point, and at least once.

The Hello Sunday The Retouch One Face Mist SPF30 usually retails for £20, but is on sale at Cult Beauty for £16.

But for those days I forget, or when I want an extra top up but without spoiling my make-up, Hello Sunday’s The Retouch is my saving grace – especially during the sunny weather we’ve got now.

You can also pick it up including Space NK, Boots, ASOS, Selfridges, and John Lewis.

The Retouch One Face Mist is designed to provide an SPF top-up throughout the day: the brand advises that you apply two fingers’ length of sun cream on your face everyday regardless of the weather.

This mist is super-hydrating, and cooling (especially because I leave mine in a fridge if it’s not in my bag on the go), to give me a much-needed refresh on a sweaty summer’s day.

It has been formulated with carnosine, a dipeptide that provides protection against blue light and environmental damage – so it is perfect for those glued to their screens.

Who knew too much screen time can wreak havoc with our skin too?

And, of course, it’s been formulated with SPF30 to provide the desired protection from harmful UV rays.

Sun cream gets a bad reputation because some can leave a white cast, streak, or be too greasy – but this formulation is super lightweight and breathable on the skin, even over make-up.

Wearing make-up in the summer can be a battle, as the pores open because of the heat and I dread the thought of make-up filling those pores and contributing to blackheads, let alone any extra products layered on top, but this feels totally weightless.

The face mist also doesn’t leave any white streaks on the skin, which is another huge bonus. After all, who wants these all over their perfectly made up face? Not me.

This also means it’s great to take on the go and layer up throughout the day, as you don’t need a mirror to make sure it’s rubbed in enough.

There are plenty of sun creams out there to shop, and the selection of face SPFs in particular is also extensive, but a face-mist version you can rely on to protect your skin, hydrate and leave no residue is a nicer option.

As well as the Hello Sunday, I also have a soft spot for Sculpted By Aimee’s Sun Mist, which I also use on rotation in the exact same way over make-up.

There are also numerous products I love from Hello Sunday too, including the Invisible Sun Stick, but as well as the skin-loving and protecting products, the brand is also campaigning to cut the VAT tax on SPF products as it is a necessity for your health.

For full transparency, some reviews on Cult Beauty have found fault with the packaging, with occasional leaking.

But this hasn’t happened to me… and I’m known to be a clumsy so and so.

I took the spray on a recent trip to the South of France, and brought it back again because I simply couldn’t be without it – and it’s still in tact.
