Giving fashionistas a hint of the new trends to expect in the lead up to autumn, staff at the chain’s Edinburgh store said: “NEW TREND ALERT.

“Our new trend is now launched on out ground floor, full of preppy vibes and cali girl influences”

Standout pieces from their clip – which has racked up 15,000 views – include a £14 neutral checked mini dress, a chunky navy striped cardigan and a grey pleated skirt.

“Grey skirt is a need”, gushed one shopper.

The Pleated Tennis Skirt comes in ivory too, and is available in sizes XXS to XL.

And priced at just £8, it’s the perfect versatile addition to your wardrobe that will look good in summer with bare legs or tights in autumn.

Primark bosses say they’re “taking this stylish mini skirt off the court and into your wardrobes”.

The added: “We don’t know about you, but this tennis skirt is giving major preppy vibes and we’re obsessed!

“A style that always makes a comeback, we can see it becoming the standout piece of your collection.

“Sitting high on the waist, it’s made from a stretch cotton fabric for added comfort and boasts a close fit at the top that flares slightly to a mini length.

“Enjoying a grey colourway and pleated finish, this skirt is perfect for achieving that academia aesthetic so why not layer it with some chunky knitwear and boots for a chic look that’ll have you acing any style exam?”

Elsewhere in store, fashion fans have begged Primark bosses to release a pair of kids pyjamas in adult sizes.

The cute bow print pyjamas come in a blush colour and boast a traditional button-up collared shirt and matching bottoms.

Priced at £8, they’re currently only available up to age eight.

And adults have been left gutted that they can’t buy the set for themselves, with many moaning “omg I need these”.

It comes soon after shoppers went crazy for the bargain chain’s Miffy pyjama range, Rugrats sets and High School Musical pjs.
