The most stylish neckline you need in your summer wardrobe, according to the fashion pros

WHETHER you’re dressing up for a glam event, after a stylish holiday look or wanting to just elevate your wardrobe, the one-shoulder style offers a fresh twist on traditional silhouettes.

This style is synonymous with the Ancient Greece and Rome, but has clearly stood the test of time (literally for centuries), as it’s still very much on trend today.

And while togas may now just be fun fancy dress, a one-shouldered look can seriously add some style to your wardrobe.

It will add interest to your neckline, drawing your eye to your decolletage, which makes it super flattering.

Here, the Fabulous Fashion team shows you how to style one-shoulder pieces for all occasions.

I’ve never been one for one-shoulder outfits, but there’s something incredibly chic about asymmetric swimwear.

I adore this swimsuit from M&S – it’s perfect for showing off a tan towards the end of my holiday.

The silver strap detail makes it look far more expensive than £45, and the fact it’s adjustable means it provides great support.

I’ve paired it with neutral accessories to complete the look.

Dress it up with this gorgeous rattan hat for the pool bar, or pair it with platform sandals for a day at the beach.

Wearing one shoulder is something I’ve only really branched into recently after years of feeling self-conscious about my arms.

But after wearing an asymmetric dress to a wedding a few months ago and receiving lots of compliments, it gave me the boost to realise that nobody was looking at my arms.

I’m still obsessing with leopard print and don’t think it’s going anywhere anytime soon.

So this dress from Mango is perfect for an occasion such as a date night or evening out with friends.

With a red bag to add a pop of colour, some fun heels and gold jewellery this is a classy look that you can wear all year round.

  • Bangle, £19.99, Zara – BUY NOW
  • Sunglasses, £12.99, H&M – BUY NOW
  • Bag, £39.50, Marks & Spencer – BUY NOW

I instantly fell in love with this white one-shoulder dress from Next’s premium range – and it’s still under £60,

I adore the flattering gathering around the waist, the little cutout at the back, the bow – and of course the striking one-shoulder detail.

To add some colour, I’d wear it with bright-orange accessories like these thong shoes from Mango and this Chanel-inspired bag that works as cross-body or shoulder bag.

Also, with one shoulders I think you need something to fill in the missing sleeve, be it some big, bold earrings or in my case, statement gold bangles.

For holidays abroad, in the UK or even city dressing, I’ll be wearing this all summer long.

Have you heard of the ‘My three style words’ fashion method?

It’s a theory that if you can name three words to sum up your style, it will be easier to choose clothes that all resonate with you as a person, it makes it much quicker and easier to get dressed in the morning, plus you end up with a great capsule wardrobe.

One of my words is ‘Grecian’.

There is something about the drape of a one-shouldered dress or the edge a one-shouldered top gives to a trouser suit that I just love.

Grecian is the opposite to girlie; it feels fierce and yet still feminine.

I have teamed this pale-blue one-shoulder top with masculine pants, a pop of dark red and a statement earring, which draw the eye all the way up this fabulous neckline.

Perfect for a summer soirée!
