Where to catch live music this weekend

If it is something less crowded and more low-key than a festival you are after this busy summer period, there are enough – more intimate – live music performances to keep you happy. All around the island, bars and live music venues continue hosting musicians to entertain audiences.

This Friday, two jazz events are happening. One is at The Agora Hotel in Lefkara village which will host local musicians for an evening of smooth live jazz, starting around 8pm. Vinylio Wine Etc bar in Limassol will also have jazz sounds as vocalist Alice Ayvazian and pianist Loukas Louka perform a special selection of jazz standards.

On Saturday, Billy Jo Sports & Rock Bar in Limassol will welcome a power rock trio that swings from blues to rock and covers songs from past decades. Marios Danos and the Dizzy Bees will perform live on Saturday night infusing subtle psychedelia rhythms and improvisation to bring a raw acoustic musical journey to listeners.
