‘Hard Knocks’ Appears To Leak Giants’ View Of Patriots’ Draft Picks

"Hard Knocks: Offseason" offered fans fascinating behind-the-scenes insight into an NFL team's draft process, and it's been an interesting view for New England Patriots fans.

The information might be too much for Giants fans as the HBO docuseries revealed how much New York liked Drake Maye and the efforts it made to try to move up from the No. 6 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

This week's season finale showed behind-the-scenes footage of the Giants during draft night. An image of a color-coded draft board was revealed, which made it easy for everyone to screenshot and figure out how New York viewed every prospect.

Six different color codes were used: blue, red, purple, pink, grey and yellow. The Doug Analytics X account surmised what the colors could mean. Blue represented the player was an all-around good leader, teammate and person. Red represented a player who had medical concerns, and purple represented a player who had character concerns. Grey likely could be a payer who graded out at two positions, and pink likely could be someone who is undersized or had measurement concerns. It's unknown what a yellow designation meant.

The Giants had Maye with a blue color designation, Javon Baker and Jaheim Bell with purple designations and Joe Milton III with a yellow designation. Milton was the only one shown with a yellow color code, and again, it's up to speculation on what that meant for New York.

It was interesting to see how a team views a draft class. The unprecedented access might make teams think twice about being on "Hard Knocks: Offseason" if this kind of information is revealed. But it is something that does benefit the fans.
