MUSTANG, Okla. (KFOR) - The Mustang Police Department is concerned after seeing a rise in animal abandonments at Mustang Dog Park at Wildhorse Park.

The police department sent out a message on Thursday saying six dogs were abandoned at the park this past week, with four of them being puppies.

Officials say dumping animals violates Oklahoma State Statute 21.1691 and Mustang Municipal Ordinance 14-87.

If you spot someone dumping animals, police say not to intervene, but to contact the department’s non-emergency line at 405-376-2488.
