Emmys: Which MCU series has racked up the most nominations (and wins)?

“Deadpool and Wolverine” has taken the US and worldwide box office by storm with the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine coupled with Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool proving a mouth-watering match for superhero fans across the globe.

The film, directed by Shawn Levy, features the Time Variance Authority (the TVA) with Matthew Macfadyen starring in a key role as a TVA agent. This organization manages and maintains the various timelines across the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and they originated on-screen in the Disney+ TV series “Loki,” starring Tom Hiddleston as the titular anti-hero. This was one of many MCU shows that fans flocked to watch.

The MCU first dipped its toes into TV with “WandaVision,” which followed Elizabeth Olsen‘s Scarlet Witch as she tried to bring back Paul Bettany‘s Vision while stuck under the control of Kathryn Hahn‘s Agatha. “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” explored the legacy of Captain America as Anthony Mackie‘s Sam Wilson struggled with the weight and expectation of the title while the US government attempted to take the mantle away from him. Then came “Loki,” which featured Loki traversing timelines with the TVA as they attempted to save the multiverse from destruction. “What If…?” was the first animated series from the MCU, telling episodic tales across the multiverse. “Hawkeye” showed Jeremy Renner‘s titular superhero working with Hailee Steinfeld‘s Kate Bishop as they wrestled with a crime syndicate in New York City.

“Moon Knight” introduced Oscar Isaac as both Marc Spector and Steven Grant, the two identities of a man with dissociative identity disorder (DID). Both men are drawn into a new world filled with Egyptian gods. “Ms. Marvel” depicted Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) as a superhero superfan who gains powers and “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” followed the adventures of lawyer-turned-hulk Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) who specializes in cases involving superheroes and supervillains. Then there was “Secret Invasion,” which starred Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury as he navigated the invasion of shape-shifting aliens while “Echo” followed Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) trying to come to terms with her past while reconnecting with her Native American roots and community

So, there you go. “WandaVision,” the inaugural MCU show, is still the best-received with a huge 23 nominations. It’s also the only MCU show to win more than one Emmy. The only other MCU shows to win any Emmy at all are “Moon Knight,” “Ms. Marvel,” and “What If…?”  Even the beloved, critically acclaimed “Loki” didn’t manage to win any nominations.

Plus, only four MCU shows have snagged Emmy nominations for performances: “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” (Don Cheadle), “What If…?” (Chadwick Boseman and Jeffrey Wright), “Moon Knight” (F. Murray Abraham), and “WandaVision” (Olsen, Bettany, and Hahn). However, the nominations of “Echo” and “Loki” season two are still to be contended. So both of those shows could join the aforementioned quarter of Emmy-winning MCU shows.

We still have a number of upcoming MCU shows, too, with the likes of “Agatha All Along,” “Daredevil: Born Again,” “Ironheart,” an untitled Vision series, plus animated shows “Eyes of Wakanda” and “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” all in various stages of development.
