'Rabid': Trump finds disturbing new way to attack Harris on racial grounds

Donald Trump Thursday platformed a self-described "proud Islamophobe" that some Republicans condemn as an agent of intraparty chaos as she took to Truth Social to call a Black journalist a "rabid" racist.

Laura Loomer, in a post Trump shared with his followers, used the same word ABC News correspondent Rachel Scott quoted in her take-no-prisoners opening question to Trump at the National Association of Black Journalists Wednesday when she asked why voters of colors should trust him.

"Scott is a rabid, anti-Trump liar and anti-white racist," Loomer wrote, "who is attacking President Trump for speaking the Truth about Kamala Harris."

In her opening question to Trump, Scott noted Trump used the same word to describe District Attorney Fani Willis, the Fulton County prosecutor who has charged with criminal election racketeering in Georgia.

She also noted Trump called Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, the prosecutor who secured the former president's historic criminal conviction, an animal.

"You have used words like 'rabid' and 'animal' to describe black district attorneys," Scott told Trump. "You've attacked Black journalists, calling them a 'loser,' saying the questions that they ask are quote 'stupid' and 'racist.' You've had dinner with a white supremacist at your Mar-a-Lago resort."

The dinner in question was with neo Nazi Nick Fuentes, a reported friend of Loomer's, a far-right political activist that Trump has openly admired.

Trump also harkened back to the birther attacks he used unsuccessfully against former President Barack Obama when he shared Loomer's post about a birth certificate whose authenticity Reuters has been unable to confirm.

Loomer claimed the certificate, and a CNN segment about Harris' mother Dr. Shyamala Gopalan, justified Trump's much condemned attacks on Harris' racial identity.

"Not only does Kamala Harris’s own birth certificate prove that she is LYING about being black, but CNN even once did a whole video interview about how Kamala is INDIAN," Loomer wrote. "Not black!"

Trump shared these posts as a growing number of his own party pleaded with Trump to stop attacking Harris on racial grounds.

When CNN reporter Manu Raju asked Sen. Lindsey Graham if Trump should have made such comments, he said he believed not.

"I don't think so,” Graham reportedly said. “I’ve known the vice president for a while she's always embraced her heritage proudly, as she should."
