Zymborski Projection System (ZiPS) is a FanGraph projection system that uses stats from previous years to predict player performance. They are big fans of what the Mets have added, specifically in the bullpen. Brazobán is a favorable addition due to his array of pitches, including a high-velocity four-seamer.

Looking into the projections as a collective team, the Mets have increased their likelihood of winning the division and, most importantly, making the playoffs. Before the trade deadline, the Mets had a 49.2% chance of making the postseason; now, after, they have a 57.4%. Only the Royals, at 8.5%, changed their ZiPS projection of making the playoffs more than the Mets.

The Mets start August half a game from the third NL Wild Card spot and one and a half games behind the Braves for the top WC spot.
