Darts sensation Luke Littler, 17, planning to celebrate success with unexpected business move

TEENAGE darts whiz Luke Littler is planning to toast his success with his own beer range — despite being too young to drink.

The 17-year-old star has applied to the Intellectual Property Office to trademark his name for beers, non-alcoholic and energy drinks.

A separate filing lodged just days ago covers cakes, jams and cereal bars.

Luke also wants his own fashion range. And he hopes to clean up and get fit with his own sports training business, documents reveal.

The teenager — who vowed to kick the kebabs after shooting to fame earlier this year — also wants to hone the skills of the next generation.

He has already trademarked his moniker The Nuke. And further documents reveal he wants to use it to begin ventures in “sports training, sports and fitness services, darts training”.

This will prevent bootleggers from using his moniker to cash in on his fame.

The darts prodigy has also just formed Luke Littler Darts Limited and registered it with Companies House.

Luke scooped £200,000 in prize money by making it through to the final of the World Darts Championship aged 16.

He was defeated 7-4 by world No1 Luke Humphries at Alexandra Palace in London.

But he may have to pay 45 per cent of his prize money in tax and National Insurance, investment experts say.

He will have to pay £76,000 in tax and more than £7,000 in National Insurance, according to estimates by Saxo.

It may be why he has moved to maximise his earnings with spin-off ideas.

Saxo’s Andrew Mangion said: “Everybody needs to pay tax and under-18s have the same personal allowance as adults.

“It’s rare for a teenager to come into so much money in one lump sum.”
