Teen arrested in connection to Chestnut Street robbery

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A 16-year-old from Albany has been charged after a robbery in the city of Albany. The incident took place around 5:40 p.m. on June 6 on the 100-block of Chestnut Street.

A 77-year-old woman told police she was walking in the area when someone threw her to the ground and forcibly stole her purse. The suspect fled, and the victim was treated for her injuries at the scene.

Police later identified the teen. He was arrested Thursday and charged with robbery in the second degree and grand larceny in the fourth degree. His identity will not be released due to his age.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
