Sainsbury’s urgently recalls children’s clothes feared to be ‘choking hazard’

The popular 3pk of clothes could be dangerous to young children.

Sainsbury’s has issued an urgent recall on a three-pack of children’s clothing amid fears it could cause a choking hazard.

The supermarket giant warned its customers not to dress children in its own-brand sleepsuits due to some of the parts falling off.

Sainsbury’s clothing brand Tu warned that the anti-slip dots on the sole of the items ‘can become detached and could become a choking hazard if swallowed by a child.’

The 3pk boys snack print sleepsuits, the dippy egg single zip through sleepsuit and the unisex 2pk value overhead sleepsuits are all affected.

The onesies are usually fit for young children aged between 6-9 months through to 2-3 years.

Sainsbury’s is asking customers who have purchased any of these items to immediately stop using them and return them to their local store for a full refund.

In June, Sainsbury’s pulled bags of crisps from its shelves over fears they could trigger allergic reactions, after some batches of the supermarket’s Taste the Difference Sea Salt and Suffolk Cider Vinegar Hand Cooked Crisps contained milk, which isn’t listed as an ingredient on the packaging.

The supermarket giant also issued an urgent recall for its own-brand flaked almonds back in June after they were found to contain salmonella bacteria.

Customers were warned not to eat the ‘by Sainsbury’s’ almonds sold in 200g packs and return them to stores for a full refund.
