Tarik Skubal, still with Tigers post-deadline, faces Royals

Tarik Skubal can finally pitch without the threat of being traded hanging over him.

While the Detroit Tigers dealt some of their veterans prior to Tuesday's deadline, they kept their ace. Skubal, a prime American League Cy Young Award candidate, will start against the visiting Kansas City Royalson Friday night.

"There were a lot of rumors that floated out there. There were a
