I got pregnant at uni, now I pay rent to live in my mum’s annexe with my partner & baby – our whole life’s in that room

A WOMAN has shared a room tour of the annexe she lives in after falling pregnant at university.

Bethany, from the UK, revealed she moved into her mum’s annexe with her partner and baby to be close to her family while they sorted out their own housing.

In the clip, the mum took viewers around her room which she pays rent for where she stores everything – including her fridge and freezer.

She entered through the external door which let her through the garden and the first thing in her room was a fridge freezer and Ikea Kallax unit to store cupboard essentials and clothing.

Bethany said: “We got our own fridge freezer in here, we did buy all of this stuff.

“By the way we do use my mum’s kitchen, but we’re not allowed to store stuff in there really, so this is where we keep all of our food and cooking stuff.”

Thankfully, the mum revealed she would be moving soon to her own house so the room looked tidier than usual as they were in the midst of packing.

In the middle of the room was a double ed and to the left was her son’s cot.

The changing mat was kept under the cot to keep it out the way and placed on top when they needed it.

On the opposite side of the cot was a trolley filled with all the baby essentials including nappies, creams and cleaning supplies.

Opposite the double bed was a set of drawers for the families clothes and it also had their pet fish on top.

She added: “So that’s all of our clothes are in those two drawers, it’s actually mad so yeah.”

The clip has since gone viral on her TikTok account @bethany_gl with over 699k views and 26k likes.

People were quick to take to the comments asking for more details.

While the room seems cramped even with the mum moving stuff out, we can’t wait to see how their next adventure goes in their own home.

One person wrote: “Wdym you aren’t allowed to store food in the kitchen?”

“Just the rules of my mums house, doesn’t make sense to me much either tbh,” replied Bethany.

But many commented saying it would have been difficult for her mum to rearrange her kitchen for more storage so they could see why she kept food in her room.

UK Teen Mum Statistics

Teen pregnancies in the UK have been decreasing considerably since 2007...

Another commented: “What a nice Mumma to allow that but also well done on keeping the space you have clean and tidy!”

Meanwhile a fourth said: “Congratulations bet you are excited to get your own place. Nice of your mum to help you out with somewhere to stay and your own privacy. Bet she’ll miss you all.”
