TV shows we love: Lucifer

TV shows we love: Lucifer

The acting and the scenarios that paint the devil in a different light than the one depicted in most horror films and movies about religion make Lucifer a great watch.

The show follows Lucifer’s visit to Los Angeles, while also telling his back story, which includes his exile in hell, relationships with angelic siblings, and his adventures on Earth.

Then there is of course a love interest, Chloe. She also happens to make Lucifer vulnerable and makes him drop all his inhibitions and barriers that cause him to be the king of evil and the influence for all pleasurable sins.

The trials of the relationship between the two also gives an air of mystery to the show, which keeps people entertained and wanting more.

I found myself watching the series, available on Netflix, with enjoyment, as it is compelling. Also, the show presents the lore of the world created by God in a different way, showing that angels have human qualities that guide them. The angelic characters show signs of greed, deceit, love, kindness and redemption.

The show also gives Lucifer the qualities that are normally attributed to him and make him the devil, but they hold true to the legend that he is a fallen angel.

He is said to have been exiled to hell to rule over the dead, but he retains his wings, and his affinity to music.

However, despite the comedy and his quality of merriment, Lucifer also shows a sense of a duty to being the lord of hell and keep true to his father’s wishes to remain in exile.

The show offers an escape into a world that is a mix of ours with all the mythical hints of religions that shaped beliefs across the world.
