Deputies: Albany man arrested on felony drug charges

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany County Sheriff's Office (ACSO) reported the arrest of an Albany man following a narcotics investigation. Devon Smith, 27, was arrested for alleged felony drug possession.

Charges

• Two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance
• Two counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia

Deputies say they conducted a narcotics investigation on Thursday around 5:25 p.m. near Robin Street and Orange Street in Albany. During the investigation, the ACSO says Smith was found to have just under 37 grams of crack and powder cocaine that was intended to be distributed with individual packaging and a digital scale.

After being arrested, Smith was transported to the Albany County Correctional Facility. He will be arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court on Friday.
