Kansas Children's Discovery Center reveals new 'Inside Out' event

TOPEKA (KSNT) - Laura Burton with the Kansas Children's Discovery Center said a traveling exhibit will be coming to Topeka soon.

Burton's announcement was made by revealing a message with invisible ink on the 27 News morning show.

"This is a really fun instant way for kids to see a secret message," Burton said after using an alcohol and turmeric solution to reveal a secret message that was made using baking soda.

Burton used the invisible ink solution to announce a new traveling exhibit 'Emotions at Play with Pixar's Inside Out'!

Kids will be able to step into the world of Inside Out. She said kids will be able to go inside the movie's Memory Bank, take control of a control panel, have various photography opportunities and play with other kiddos.

Burton said kids will be able to learn about feelings and emotions by working with joy, anger, sadness and all the emotions featured in the film.

"Those films are so good at getting kids to be able to put some words to their feelings," Burton said. "I know in my house we talk a lot about joy anger and sadness and which one is ruling the control panel."

Burton said the exhibit opens on Sept. 20 and will be included in the cost of regular admission. The event will be open until Jan. 5, 2025. Burton said in the meantime, there are plenty of cool science activities to enjoy at the Kansas Children's Discovery Center. You can learn more about the center by visiting its website.
