Discovering Saratoga: Fashionable Fillies luncheon preview

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10) - For decades, the Jockey Club Safety Net Foundation has been assisting those in need in the racing industry. On Monday, the organization is hosting the Fashionable Fillies Luncheon, one of their biggest fundraisers of the year.

The Fashionable Fillies Luncheon will take place on Monday, August 5 at the Saratoga National Golf Club from 11:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. This year's theme is "All things Nancy," in memory of the group's longtime executive director, Nancy C. Kelly. The luncheon will feature some of Nancy's favorite things including an Italian menu and shopping.

"It's our biggest fundraiser of the entire year. The Fashionable Fillies luncheon was started by Nancy Kelley, my predecessor, who passed away this February after a battle with ovarian cancer. And so, I get a little emotional, but she's our honoree this year. Her family's coming to join us," said Shannon Kelly, executive director of the Jockey Club Safety Net Foundation.
