Hello Kitty Cafe coming to Universal CityWalk

The new Los Angeles location joins a growing chain of Hello Kitty Cafes in Las Vegas, Vancouver and the Irvine Spectrum.

Hello Kitty and her friends are bringing an Instagram-worthy cafe and gift shop to the outdoor shopping mall next to Universal Studios Hollywood that promise to be adorably cute and plush pink.

A Hello Kitty themed cafe and gift shop are coming to Universal CityWalk, according to the official Universal Studios Hollywood Twitter page.

Opening dates and locations for the Hello Kitty and Friends Cafe and Sanrio Smile Shop have not been announced.

The Hello Kitty cafe and shop are expected to replace the former Chick Chick Chicken and Francesca’s locations in Universal CityWalk, according to Theme Park Insider.

The new Los Angeles location joins a growing chain of Hello Kitty Cafes in Las Vegas, Vancouver and the Irvine Spectrum.

The Hello Kitty Grand Cafe that opened in 2018 in Irvine features a grab-and-go menu of coffees, teas, blended drinks, lemonades, mini donuts, desserts and Dole Whip soft serve.

The Irvine location also is home to a unique Bow Room that transforms from afternoon tea room to nighttime cocktail bar.

The $60 afternoon tea features savory and sweet bites with black, green and iced teas.

The Irvine Bow Room’s evening cocktail menu includes Kitty Coladas, old fashioneds, martinis, wines and mocktails priced from $14 to $25.

Hello Kitty and Sanrio merchandise can already be found inside Universal Studios Hollywood at the Animation Studio Store — where a Hello Kitty meet-and-greet character is often available for photo ops.
