'Couldn’t take the pressure': Kyle Rittenhouse abruptly flip flops after abandoning Trump

Kyle Rittenhouse, the shooter acquitted of murder charges in the deaths of two men during a Wisconsin protest, abruptly announced he was abandoning his support for Donald Trump in the 2024 election. But after a torrent of backlash from the right, Rittenhouse reversed his decision.

Internet troll Phillip Buchanan, who goes by CatTurd, got into an outright Twitter fight with Rittenhouse following his initial MAGA defection. The spat led the young shooter to block the large account.

"BYE forever," Buchanan wrote on X Friday with a peace sign. "I can stomach a lot of things - but backstabbing millions who supported you at your lowest point. Then, turning on Trump right after he got shot. Can't stomach it - won't put up with it - forgotten forever."

Earlier in the morning, the account said, "When Kyle was at his lowest point in life, facing life in prison with an anger (sic) left mob trying everything they could to lock him up and throw away the key - we stood by him, we sent him tons of money, we cheered for him, Trump stood by him ... Now, he's smack talking Trump and going to write in Ron Paul? When someone backstabs the people who helped them like this - I have absolutely ZERO respect for them and never will going forward."

After the massive flood of hostility from MAGA world, Rittenhouse made a issued an eyebrow-raising reversal.

"Over the past 12 hours, I've had a series of productive conversations with members of the Trump's team and I am confident he will be the strong ally gun owners need to defend our Second Amendment rights," he wrote on X. "My comments made last night were ill-informed and unproductive. I'm 100% behind Donald Trump and encourage every gun owner to join me in helping send him back to the White House."

The sudden flip-flop led to mockery on the internet, with former GOP congressman Adam Kinzinger posting on X: "HahahahahHhahhahahahahHh.Completely expected. Couldn’t take the pressure."
