Kansas State Fair says to watch out for fake tickets
HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KSNW) – The Kansas State Fair is warning to watch out for ticket scams.
The fair says Etix is the only verified seller of tickets to the fair, including concerts. Tickets purchased through a third-party website often cost more and, in some cases, are fake tickets.
Tickets bought through unauthorized third-party sites will not be accepted, and the fair says they will not reimburse customers for tickets purchased from unauthorized sellers.
The Kansas State Fair offers these tips to avoid getting ripped off:
- Make sure you are buying from the Fair’s secured site through ticket partner Etix. Customers can also purchase tickets at the Fair’s Ticket Office, located in the Administration Building.
- Don’t be fooled by secondary, unsecured sites that imply affiliation with the Kansas State Fair by using photos of the venue and images of grandstand seating or information about upcoming shows.
- The Fair’s official ticket website is https://www.etix.com/ticket/v/12251/kansas-state-fair for concerts, gate admission, and ticket packages.
- If you hear a show is sold out, confirm it first with our ticket office.
- You shouldn’t pay more than the face value, but resale is legal. Research to see if you’re paying too much.
Tickets for the 2024 Kansas State Fair can also be purchased by telephone by calling 620-669-3618 or at the Kansas State Fair Ticket Office from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The fair takes place September 6 through 15.
