OSU students move-in to find trashed apartments, broken appliances

Dirty vents, trashed floors and clogged toilets are what tenants moving into a Stillwater complex are dealing with.

STILLWATER, Okla. (KFOR) — Dirty vents, trashed floors and clogged toilets are what tenants moving into a Stillwater complex are dealing with.

Two OSU students allowed us inside their apartment at Apex On Perkins.

The roommates are approaching their sophomore year at Oklahoma State University and asked News 4 to conceal their identities for privacy.

"Our toilets are broken, our shower is broken, we have nowhere to go to the bathroom," they say.

The girls told News 4 they didn't receive their apartment number until one day before showing up to move-in on August 1.

They say management was supposed to give them that information on July 1.

As soon as they got their keys...

"Whenever we first moved in...it was really gross," one of them said.

Their friends live in the apartments downstairs and around them, and say they are also having problems.

They also shared photos of what their apartment looked like when they arrived to move-in.

When walking to the leasing office to get their side, News 4 was told by a worker to leave the property.

We then tried calling the complex for answers and left a message.

The roommates say they've also put requests in for their problems and the issues still haven't been repaired.

As the school year approaches, the girls are feeling frustrated, just wanting things to be fixed.

"We want our stuff fixed, we want a place to come and stay and relax that we feel safe in," the student says.
