Sen Wyden: Kamla Harris VP pick should be 'ready on day 1'

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — U.S. Senator Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) sat down with KOIN 6 News on Friday to talk about a variety of topics ahead of what he is calling a "busy election season."

We asked who he thinks presidential candidate Kamala Harris, whom he's endorsed, should pick as her vice presidential running mate. Wyden stopped short of naming anyone in particular but said that whoever it is, they ought to "be ready on day one" and "be able to win a state or two" during what he's predicting will be a "close election."

Wyden also talked about the urgency of wildfire response as more than a million acres are burning in Oregon, where Gaza peace talks should go from here and his push for digital privacy when it comes to car companies.
