Big Sean Explains Why He & Jhené Aiko Aren't Married Yet After 8 Years of Dating

Big Sean is opening up about his relationship with Jhené Aiko.

If you didn’t know, Sean, 36, and Jhené, also 36, have been dating since 2016 and share son Noah, who was born in November 2022. Jhené also shares daughter Namiko, 15, with ex O’Ryan.

During a recent appearance on Charlamange Tha God‘s Out of Context podcast, Sean shared some insight into his relationship with Jhené and explained why they haven’t gotten married yet.

Keep reading to find out more…Charlamange first jokingly asked Sean if he and Jhené got married in “one of those secret industry weddings.”

“No, no, there has not been a secret industry marriage,” Sean responded with a laugh.

“It’s a little personal, you know what I mean?” Sean went on. “But just like to be real with you, just like any people who have dealt with love, we’ve had our ups and downs, you know what I’m saying? And I think it’s still finding the right navigation through it all.”

He added, “To me, marriage symbolizes like the best relationship.”

Sean went on to say that the idea of having to get married is “almost a fear based way of thinking,” noting that divorce rates are high. However, Sean did say he would consider getting married down the line.

“I would like to, and I don’t like putting our personal business out there like that either, but there’s a lot of work that needs to be done,” Sean said.

Charlamange, who has been married with wife Jessica Gadsden since 2014, offered Sean some advice about relationships.

“Well take it from somebody who’s been with their woman for twenty-six years, right?” Charlamange said. “It’s always gonna be ups and downs, period. The work’s never gonna stop.”

In an interview from a few years ago, Big Sean revealed how he was able to grow two inches taller.
