Luckily, there are some cheat ways to get around cutting the grass whilst still having look like a professional has done it.

Experts at Scotts, a lawn grass seed company, have revealed a few tricks into quickly getting your law mowed.

They first started off by suggesting that gardening fans should create a “mulch bed” around trees and plantings.

Mulch is a layer of material which is thick and placed over soil, and around plants

It is often used to lock moisture into soil, whilst also some are able to slow-release plant food as well.

Experts at Scotts said on their website: “Start by creating mulch beds around (but not right up against) trees and foundation plantings so that you don’t have to make tiny turns with the mower.”

Then when it comes to selecting the best cutting height, always choose high over low.

They explained: “If you cut your grass short, you’re short-changing your lawn.

“Longer grass allows the growth of longer roots, which can reach down for moisture even on hot, dry days, resulting in happy, healthy grass.

Anyone worried their lawn will look untidy if it’s longer, the garden experts added: “While it’s tempting to set the mower blades low for a close cut, most lawn grass types do best when the mower setting is between two and three inches.

“True, your lawn won’t look as closely cut as a golf course, but those longer grass blades help shade weed seeds so they’re less likely to grow and become a time-consuming problem.”

Next, “choose an efficient mowing pattern”.

“The best choice is the one with the fewest turns,” Scotts added.

The gardening experts then went onto explain two different, quick and easy tips when it comes to choosing the quickest mowing pattern.

They said: “Either spiral pattern that starts at the perimeter of the lawn and circles inwards.

A back-and-forth pattern creates stripes parallel to the longer side of your yard.

They added: “If desired, you can alternate between the two methods to reduce wear patterns in the lawn.”

When it comes to making sure your lawn is cut perfectly, the experts also suggested some other quick and easy tips.

They suggested leaving grass clippings where they fall as they will naturally feed the soil, and help your lawn to stay strong and thick.

Scotts experts also added that it will help save you time, as you won’t need to spend another hour picking up the excess clippings.

They also suggested feeding your lawn every six to eight weeks.

“With [this time period], microbes in the soil have processed most of the nutrients for your lawn to absorb. You need to replenish these nutrients with another feeding,” they explained.

“A well-fed lawn grows in thick, crowding out weeds and cooling the soil, which helps it handle the heat of summer.”
