Wasps were ruining my life, they everywhere until I tried an 85p DIY trap – it’s so good, it banished them in 5 minutes
A HOMEMAKING expert has revealed an 85p hack for banishing wasps from your home, in just five minutes.
Wasps can be a real nuisance in the summertime as this is when their queen stops laying eggs, leading the colony to break down and wasps to become more aggressive.
They also stop eating protein at this time of year, and switch to sugary foods instead, making them more likely to come inside and sniff out human food.
Thankfully, George, a homemaking expert and founder of Homemade Mastery has revealed an 85p hack to keep wasps at bay, without using toxic chemicals.

Writing on his blog he said: “Do wasps ruin your life and your garden? Yes, they did this to me too.
“Today I’m sharing a simple, homemade, easy DIY wasp trap, so you can also say goodbye to those annoying (and potentially dangerous) wasps!”
The trap only takes five minutes to make, but works to lure them away, and then trap them so they can’t escape.
George said: “The way this homemade wasp trap works is with a sweet, liquid bait.
“Wasps would fly into the bottle because they’re attracted to the scent of the bait.
“Once inside the bottle, they’re unable to find their way out and are eventually drown in the liquid.”
To make the trap, simply place either some sugar or jam into a bottle, mixed together with a liquid such as juice or beer.
The sugar or jam attracts the wasps to the trap, whilst the liquid causes them to drown.
You can pick up a bag of sugar for just 85p and a jar of jam for 89p from Sainsbury’s.
Once you have mixed the ingredients together, simply use a knife or a pair of scissors to cut off the top part of the bottle.
Then, turn the top bit of the bottle upside down and place it on top of the other half of the bottle, with the mouth facing down.
To make a handle for your trap, cut two holes into the top, and thread a piece of string through.
Hang your trap up close to a door or window, and wasps will soon flock to it, and meet their demise.
Be sure to check the trap regularly to remove any dead wasps, making sure not to let yourself get stung by any that may still be alive.
