Two more teens arrested for arcade thefts in Protaras

Two more people, aged 16, have been arrested for stealing money from arcade machines in Protaras, bringing the number of people arrested for the same case to six, all aged between 15 and 18.

Police are investigating a number of thefts from game machines in Protaras establishments, all in July.

The 16-year-olds were arrested on Friday to facilitate investigations regarding illegal entry, causing damage to electronic game machines and stealing money from the slot machines.

They were questioned in the presence of their guardians and a legal advisor and released, pending trial.

Another 16-year-old, who had been arrested on July 29 and been in custody since July 30, was released until his trial.

On Thursday, August 1, three more people were arrested, one aged 15 and two 18.

They were questioned and released pending trial.

Paralimni police are continuing investigations.
