‘That’s a bit of me’ say Asda shoppers rushing to buy ‘delicious’ new Aero chocolate that’s hit shelves

ASDA shoppers are lapping up a new Aero chocolate that’s landed on shelves.

Sweet-toothed customers have been dashing out to their local branch to pick up the new Orange Bubbles.

The variation on the classic bar is scanning for £1.35 and comes in a 70g size bag which is ideal for sharing.

The new spin on the Aero Orange bar was spotted in one shopper’s local Asda branch and posted on the Newfoodsuk Facebook page.

The post has notched up over 500 likes and more than 200 comments from foodies who can’t wait to snap one of the bags up.

One, responding to being tagged in the post, said: “That’s a bit of me.”

Another chimed in: “Mmm delicious.”

Meanwhile, a third commented: “Right up my street!”

The new Aero Chocolate Orange Bubbles were only available from Asda when we checked online.

But shoppers looking to get something similar can buy Aero Orange Melts from Morrisons and Sainsbury’s for £1.35.

Asda and Ocado have them for £1.50 too – 15p more expensive.

Asda’s latest launch comes after shoppers were left going wild for strawberry-flavoured Aero bars last month.

Chocoholics have described the bar as “lovely” with some saying it tastes like strawberry milkshake.

Nestlé launched the bar in Spar branches across the UK in mid-May, before rolling it out more widely in June.

And in February, Aero fans were left in meltdown after spotting two new flavours in Co-op branches.

The Choco Hazelnut and Golden Honeycomb bars were a quick hit with customers keen to give them a try.

OTHER CHOCOLATE NEWS

Nestlé has brought back the iconic Caramac bar, after the chocolatier axed it from shelves in November.

Shoppers were left distraught last year after finding out the caramel-flavoured chocolate would be discontinued after 60 years.

But the chocolate-maker has since relaunched the snack in three varieties, while stocks last.

Shoppers can get their hands on a classic single bar, three-bar multi-pack and sharing bag of buttons across retailers including Spar, B&M and Iceland.

In June, Cadbury confirmed it had brought back a “yummy” 90s chocolate bar after giving it a makeover.

One of the nation’s favourite chocolate brands announced it would relaunch its Top Deck bar across the UK.

Cadbury said the the much-loved bar, which first launched in 1993, would only be returning to shelves for a limited time though.

Shoppers have been rushing out to buy Christmas chocolate landing on shelves too, despite December being months away.

How to save money on chocolate

WE all love a bit of chocolate from now and then, but you don't have to break the bank buying your favourite bar.

Consumer reporter Sam Walker reveals how to cut costs…

Go own brand – if you’re not too fussed on flavour and just want to supplant your chocolate cravings, you’ll save by going for supermarket’s own brand bars.

Shop around – if you’ve spotted your favourite variety at the supermarket, make sure you check if it’s cheaper elsewhere.

Websites like Trolley.co.uk let you compare prices on products across all the major chains to see if you’re getting the best deal.

Look out for yellow stickers – supermarket staff put yellow, and sometimes orange and red, stickers on to products to show they’ve been reduced.

They usually do this if the product is coming to the end of its best before date or the packaging is slightly damaged.

Buy bigger bars – most of the time, but not always, chocolate is cheaper per 100g the larger the bar.

So if you’ve got the appetite, and you were going to buy a hefty amount of chocolate anyway, you might as well go bigger.
