EastEnders viewers watch as mum Elaine intervenes and orders him to leave, it leaves Linda shaken and wondering whether she should accept the proposal.

Speaking with Johnny, he tries to reason with Linda before Linda turns to alcohol as she’s overwhelmed by the contact from Dean.

Waking up the next morning hungover, Linda is disorientated and worries Elaine as she’s forgotten Archie’s dentist appointment.

Linda grows defensive when Elaine offers to take Annie instead, and is later horrified when the dentist reveals that Annie’s dental care has slipped.

Later, Linda asks Jack for advice on the trial and whether she should be going ahead at all.

It’s not over for Linda as she then receives a blackmail letter, leaving her and Johnny to try and determine who might have sent it.

Johnny summons Denise and Sharon to reveal all before a second letter is found, leading Linda into a downward spiral.

Terrified, Linda loses control and causes a scene when she starts accusing individuals in The Vic of being behind the letters.

Johnny is left to console her upstairs whilst unbeknownst to them, the culprit sending the letters is visiting Dean behind bars.

The scenes come as the build up to the trial, where Dean is being tried for the murder of Keanu Taylor.

Framed by ‘The Six’, Dean was arrested after Linda reported him to the police and Stacey Slater planted the incriminating murder weapon in Dean’s flat.

Matt said spoke exclusively to The Sun on the red carpet for the Radio Times Soap Awards, as he discussed his soap exit: “Dean is a bit like the World Cup.

“You can handle a bit of him every six years or so, and then after a week you’re like, ‘OK enough of this’.

“He’s a fun character to play and all the people I work with like Kellie [Bright] and Di Parrish, I’ve known them for a long time, they’ve known me since I was a young guy so they’re fun to work with.”
