There’s an incredible mix of indie and triple-A titles – no gamer will be left disappointed this month.

Creatures of Ava – August 7

Creatures of Ava is an exploration-driven creature-taming game with a gorgeous art style and a strong story (co-written by Rhianna Pratchett). Designed to be entirely peaceful, players will guide explorer Vic around Ava to help the local inhabitants, the Naam, discover and cure a deadly virus, The Withering. SteamWorld Heist 2 – August 8

Guide Captain Leeway and their team of ragtag Steambots to solve the deadly water crisis threatening the oceans. Explore the great Oceanic sea shelf in this turn-based game and experience the new jobs system that allows for a range of combat options, from snipers to brawlers and more.

The precision aim and ricochet mechanics promise to make the combat engaging and opens up tons of interesting strategies for players to outmaneuver their enemies.

Dustborn – August 20

Finally, the ‘road-trip’ genre of movies is migrating to video games. In this single-player story-driven action-adventure game, players take on the role of Pax, a con artist who has been tasked with smuggling an important package across the Justice-controlled American Republic.

Make plenty of pit stops, build up your road trip crew, and bamboozle the authorities with your cover of being a punk rock band. The combat system is based on words and music, making it unique and exciting.

Tactical Breach Wizards – August 22

Have you ever wished Xcom had a little bit more fantasy to it? Step aside, hard sci-fi and make some space for the Tactical Breach Wizards. This story-driven tactical turn-based game offers Xcom-like gameplay with a fantastical twist.

The humor is very tongue-in-cheek and irreverent, which aids in lending the game a completely different tone to others in the genre.

Concord – August 23

Concord is a 5v5 team-based first-person shooter that promises tons of character customization. There are 16 Freegunners to choose from, each of which has a range of Combat Trait modifiers to switch up their base abilities. August 2024 PC releases that WILL NOT be coming to Steam
