Cyprus trains Lebanon in search and rescue

The search and rescue coordination centres of Cyprus and Lebanon have signed a technical arrangement for cooperation, “strengthening the Republic’s efforts to become a crossroads of humanitarian operations to the eastern Mediterranean”, it was announced on Saturday.

Through the agreement, signed on Thursday, Cyprus will provide training programmes to Lebanese staff in search and rescue, joint manoeuvres and the exchange of experience, know-how and common practices.

In the framework of the agreement, Cyprus’ centre provided training from July 30 to August 2 to Lebanese officers.
