Sky Sports’ Michael Bridge has become the latest reporter to lavish praise on Mikey Moore, revealing that the youngster is seen as a certain first-team prospect at Hotspur Way.

The Tottenham academy is thriving

It feels as though Spurs might be at the start of a golden era of youngsters at the moment, with a whole host of talented young players, including Jamie Donley, Will Lankshear, and Alfie Devine, on the cusp of the first team.

In addition, the Lilywhites have also managed to add some outstanding young talents to their squad recently in the form of Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray.

However, the player who is generating the most excitement at the moment is 16-year-old Moore, who is seen by many in the game as being one of the best players in the world in his age group.

Mikey Moore joins the Spurs first-team

Earlier this week, Football Insider revealed that the likes of Man Utd, Man City, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are keen to secure the teenager but Spurs remain confident that he will sign his first professional contract with them when he turns 17 on August 11.

When asked about Moore, Bridge has now told GiveMeSport: “Tottenham rate him so highly. I think he is the one who is going to feature in the first team.

“He is still so incredibly young, and they obviously have to take their time and be careful with him, but he made a couple of substitute appearances last season.

“He has played and trained with the first team. He has gone away with the first team for pre-season, so he has got a huge future, and him staying at Spurs will be a great bit of business for them.

“I fully expect him to be part of the first team next season.”

We might see Moore get some cameos in the Europa League group stages this season but this might be a campaign too soon for him to go out on loan or get regular first-team opportunities.

However, just training with the senior Spurs squad for a full year will undoubtedly do wonders for the youngster’s development.
