It came in a survey of 2,000 18 to 28-year-olds which related to mid-90s British music culture.

Fifteen per cent of the Gen Zers said they think Oasis brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher are TV presenters and 11 per cent believe they are TV chefs.

Six per cent thought Manchester band Happy Mondays was the name of a type of Viagra pill, with 14 per cent suggesting it was a wellness app.

A further 15 per cent said Cool Britannia — the name given to pop culture in the 1990s — is the name of the royal yacht.

Ten per cent thought it was the national anthem and the same amount said it was the name of an air conditioning company.

Overall, 66 per cent of Gen Zers did not know what Britpop was.

Some suggested it was a political party and others a Eurovision artist.

And 21 per cent had never heard of Oasis’s Britpop rivals Blur.

Drinks firm Hooch, which did the poll, said: “Gen Z might not know much about Jarvis Cocker and Oasis because they weren’t even born.”
