Sophia and Ricky were home Thursday morning when their Midwest City home burst into flames.

8-year-old Ricky died Thursday after the fire.

Family members tell News 4 Sophia was 49.

They say she died in the hospital Friday night, while being surrounded by family.

The cause of the house fire remains unknown, according to fire crews.

News 4 spoke with Sophia's brother Michael Peace, and her sister-in-law, M'Lisa O'Brien.

"She was a very strong woman, she was told she couldn't have any children. Ricky was her miracle baby," says Michael.

M'Lisa says, "She had a heart of gold. Just beautiful. An amazing mom, an amazing wife, amazing friend."

Michael said Sophia was a fighter, beating Cervical Cancer earlier in her life.

"She was a very strong woman," he adds.

Both Michael and M'Lisa say Ricky was Sophia's 'Little Miracle.'

Although their family is devastated, they say they are happy Ricky and Sophia can be together dancing in heaven.

"There was just a peace in the room. She was no longer in pain, no longer hurting. And she was with Ricky again," says M'Lisa.

The family has started a GoFundMe page to help support Sophia's husband, Richard, and to help cover funeral expenses.
