Two remanded in Limassol in drug bust

Two men were remanded for eight-days by the Limassol District Court on Sunday in an ongoing drugs investigation.

The two men, 31 and 26, were arrested on Saturday after police drug squad Ykan found them in possession of 9kg of narcotics.

Around 8pm on Saturday, Ykan officers stopped the 26-year-old and found him in possession of 157 g of cannabis, 38 g of cocaine, a scale, a lit cannabis cigarette, €1,520, and three mobile phones.

Later, a search of the 31-year-old’s apartment followed, where they found and seized, among other things, about nine kilos of cannabis, about 52 grams of cocaine, a scale, 1,001 firecrackers, five flares, two torches and the sum of €270.

In addition, a search of the 26-year-old’s home also led to the identification and seizure of 20 firecrackers and the sum of €4,100.

Both were arrested on drug possession charges and appeared in court on Sunday.
